BiblioCommons Acquires StackMap

StackMap has joined BiblioCommons, giving StackMap a long-term home with a company that understands libraries and an opportunity to invest in what comes next. For StackMap customers, there are no immediate changes to the products and services you use today, and you'll continue to work with the people and library expertise you know. With the additional BiblioCommons resources, we'll be able to support StackMap's continued growth while thoughtfully exploring ways to strengthen the platform and more closely connect digital discovery with the physical library experience.

FAQ

Is StackMap being discontinued or rebranded?

No. StackMap continues to operate as StackMap: same name, same product, same team. This is a change in ownership structure, not a change to what StackMap is or does.

Are my StackMap products changing?

No. The StackMap products you use today are not changing as a result of this transition. You will not lose any of your mapping services.

Will my StackMap contacts change?

No. You'll continue working with the same StackMap team members you know today:
Alexa Roy-Coates, VP of Growth & Operations
Maggie Browne, Senior Sales Lead
Katie Boyle, Director of Customer Experience
Troy Scott,  Manager of Implementations and Training
Clay Shaw,  Senior Full Stack Developer
David Kim, Software Engineer

Will customer support change?

No. Support continues through the same channels and team.

Is my contract still valid?

Yes. Your existing contract remains valid and unchanged. Terms, renewal dates, and service commitments carry forward as-is.

Will pricing change?

There are no immediate changes to StackMap pricing as a result of the acquisition. As we look ahead, we’ll continue to evaluate our products and pricing as part of the normal course of business. We’ll communicate any future changes directly to customers in advance.

Will billing or invoicing change?

There are no immediate changes to how StackMap customers are billed or invoiced. If any changes are made in the future, we’ll communicate them directly to affected customers in advance and provide clear information about what to expect.

Are existing integrations changing?

No. Your current integrations (catalog/discovery layer, etc.) continue to work exactly as they do today.

Will StackMap only integrate with BiblioCommons products now?

No. StackMap continues to support integrations across the range of catalog and discovery systems it works with today, not exclusively BiblioCommons products.

Do we need to be a BiblioCommons customer to continue using StackMap?

No. StackMap continues to operate independently, and you don't need to be a BiblioCommons customer to use it.

What is Lex's role now?

Lex will remain with BiblioCommons as General Manager of a new initiative, where he will continue working on technology that improves the lives of library users. StackMap is a tuck-in to BiblioCommons and will be led by Marty Tarle, General Manager of BiblioCommons.
